Our values.

We embrace change, pursue continuous improvement for ourselves and our clients, and expand access so every teen, family, clinician and community we touch can grow.

Genuine

Show up as you are.

We build trust through authenticity, bringing honesty and our true selves to every relationship.

Results

Make every day count.

Lives depend on our care, so we move with urgency, hold rigorous clinical standards, and let evidence and outcomes guide every decision.

Ownership

Help them help themselves.

We empower teens and families to build skills that last and lead their own progress. As a team, we pursue excellence with integrity, holding ourselves and each other accountable.

Warmth

Care deeply.

We lead with empathy and radical acceptance, delivering personalized care that meets each teen and family where they are and building a community where everyone feels seen and valued.

Heal teens. Strengthen families.

Mission

To deliver the highest-quality, family-centered, life-saving care to every teen in North Carolina who needs it.

Vision

A North Carolina where every teen has somewhere to go, and every family has somewhere to grow.

Who we serve

Adolescents ages 10–17 with moderate-to-high acuity mental health needs, and their parents and guardians. Families who need more than weekly therapy and less than residential care.

The heart of Joshua Tree Health.

Joshua Tree Health is inspired by the life and memory of my brother, Josh.

A veteran of the Iraq War, Josh returned home to face a difficult battle with PTSD and addiction. Despite countless attempts at recovery, including traditional rehabs and alternative therapies, he struggled to find lasting peace.

Amid these challenges, Josh found solace in the landscapes of Joshua Tree National Park. He connected deeply with the resilience of the Joshua tree, a symbol of strength in harsh conditions. Vipassana meditation, practiced in the quiet of the park, became a crucial part of his journey toward inner peace.

Josh’s battle ended in 2023. His spirit lives on through the mission of Joshua Tree Health. The Joshua tree represents his strength, and our commitment to bringing hope and care to teens and families in the most difficult environments.

Working at Joshua Tree Health.

GROW is how we treat each other as well as how we treat the teens we serve.

  • Genuine. You can show up as you are. We say what we think, directly and with care.
  • Results. Your clinical judgment counts. Decisions follow evidence and outcomes, reviewed as a team.
  • Ownership. You run your caseload and your own growth. The team holds itself to the same standard it sets for teens.
  • Warmth. You get the care we ask you to give families. That means a defined clinical model, direct communication, and room to do the work carefully.
