Why the Joshua tree
The teen is not the tree.
The Joshua tree survives difficult conditions without following a blueprint. Its form records what it has adapted to.
We do not ask teens to become Joshua trees. The name is a reminder that development responds to conditions. Change the conditions, and something different may become possible.
Our job is to provide those conditions: a reliable week, concrete skills, clinical attention, and family participation. Joshua Tree Health offers PHP and IOP for adolescents ages 10–17 in Apex, North Carolina.

Our history
Simply Teens is now Joshua Tree Health.
Joshua Tree Health was formerly known as Simply Teens Outpatient, a program that served adolescents and families in Apex, North Carolina for years.
In 2026, Simply Teens began a new chapter under new leadership, with an expanded clinical model and a new name. The name reflects where the program is going.
